Software Engineer

I finally get to use the word 'Engineer' in my title. But, not because I have a P.Eng.

Originally, they didn't want to let us use the title 'Engineer' because we were acquired by a Canadian company and back then in Canada you had to have a P.Eng. to use the title 'Engineer'.

I believe there is or has been changes to allow limited practice Engineers to also use the title.

Though over the last few years I had noticed a greater abuse of what is Engineering in the company, yet still nothing to allow me, a Professional Engineer in both Canada and the US, to use the word 'Engineer' in my title.

Meanwhile, I continue to pay a small fortune in dues to APEGGA, NSPE and IEEE.

As well as ensuring that I meet the continuing competence requrement for my registration in Canada.

Now instead of subjecting some poor random forum to a long rambling thought, I will try to consolidate those things into this blog where they can be more easily ignored profess to be collected thoughts from my mind.
