BB7100t temporary image hosting

More on creating home screens for the BB7100t...well, I found this....

In order to help fellow BlackBerry 7100t users deal with T-Mobile's lacking image attachment support, I created this service. It is intended to help PC users get attachments to a BB, and not the other way around.

Blackberry 7100t Custom Wallpaper Images

I was playing around on Friday, and found that I could save images from the browser and then use those images as the home page on my phone. 88|

The picture I had grabbed was of me from my own website, it didn't look very good and was badly placed on the screen.

This got me thinking of creating an image of my own for this.

When I finally got around to doing though, the first thing I went looking to do was recreate a custom OSU logo. The one I had on my Motorola T720 had the wrong aspect ratio for the visible portion on the blackberry screen, so I had to fiddle with getting something that worked.

This is the image I came up with:

OSU logo for BB7100t

Asia Tsunami Relief Donations - Update

Link: http://lawrence.chen-online.net/index.php?title=asia_tsunami_relief_donations&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1

Yesterday, we were informed at work the kind of response the company was giving towards the relief effort. And, we were told that they will match our donations (a first). So, I have pledged to donate at least the same amount to each of the other charities that I had previousily mentioned.

I also offered to volunteer should my time and/or expertise be needed for the (my employer's?) relief effort.

ditch bars on BB7100t

Link: http://www.mobilewhack.com/pda/blackberry/db_display_signal.html

Just came across this....cool B-)

Looks better using the 'default' theme rather than the 'T-Mobile' theme.

Kind of confusing of smaller being better. I knew my signal was bad at work, but now it is easier to see just how bad it is.

What is it?

...it is one of the most amazing products to come out to help with doing laundry!

They sell under a variety of different names...typically "(dye|color) (catcher|magnet)". This particular one is "Shout's Color Catcher".

As I was rushing out the door today, I decided to run a load of whites....at least they were supposed to be whites. What I discovered is the brand new yellow tub mat that my mother gave me for Xmas, was mixed in with the load.

I don't think I could've handled all my whites being yellow. Especially since whites means mostly underwear (and socks).

Discovered a travel home woe...

Today, is the first time I decided to venture out since returning home....wearing pants that require a belt. |-|

Well, I had checked my belt, along with a number of my gadgets in the hopes to expedite getting through security.

It didn't help, because they wanted to check my laptop for bomb residue....and found none, and seemed surprised that when they opened it...that it woke up. :?

Anyways....when I went to dig out my belt from my suitcase (which is still sitting on the floor waiting to be completely unpacked....not uncommon for this to take a month or so)....I found this:

Well, that settles it. I do have to go shopping today, but I can't use a belt to hold my pants up. Which would've been okay...except it was pouring rain...and as my pants got wet...it kind of caused a problem with whether they would stay up.... :))

Good thing I found out today, rather than tomorrow when I have to go back to work.... ;D

Another UPS Shuffle

Well, I moved all my network equipment onto the CPS700AVR UPS that is in that corner. That way I'll have no expectation of being able to use my phone if the network is also down |-|

So, my Linux box is now the only device on its CPS700AVR UPS. I unplugged the modem that is on my Linux box, because I haven't used it for a very long time....

And I resurrected the APC Office 500VA UPS to run my WiRNS/DVArchive/Poopli box.

I haven't decided not what I'll do when the UPS upgrade bug hits....the 1500VA UPS on my main computer is getting old (I think it is the oldest one I have in service...it was my second UPS. My first UPS died a while back....)

OTOH, a different swap might be to exchange the CPS700AVR on the Linux box with the CPS1500AVR-HO running the left side of my HT setup.

Now instead of subjecting some poor random forum to a long rambling thought, I will try to consolidate those things into this blog where they can be more easily ignored profess to be collected thoughts from my mind.
