Bad Drives....ARGH!!!

After much fiddling around, I manage to do the RMA process for getting the retail 250GB Maxtor done. Eventually, Maxtor sends me a refurbished drive on the same model (of course) in its place.

I'm not sure what I'll do with it, but I'm sure I can find a use for it. Eventually, it goes into my Linux server as storage for that DVArchive server.

Meanwhile, another 250GB drive is acting somewhat erratic. Its the 250GB drive in my desktop computer...a Western Digital. I again opt to rush out and buy a new 250GB drive to replace it before it fails completely....almost didn't get to it in time. (Incidentally a Maxtor ...forget the model, the ones with 16MB cache). And, eventually I RMA the Western Digital...and they send me a refurbished drive of the same model in exchange.

I also ear marked this for future growth of my Linux DVArchive server.

Now instead of subjecting some poor random forum to a long rambling thought, I will try to consolidate those things into this blog where they can be more easily ignored profess to be collected thoughts from my mind.
