Darn: I did the wrong drive....

Should replaced hdc with the new drive (instead of hda). I knew hdc was failing, but it had been okay for the last while....

Well, this morning I found some 'Uncorrectable Errors' logged for the drive. And, it affects files that I didn't want the errors to be at. Actually, there isn't anything on the drive that would be considered expendable. All the data on it is of archive nature. Though it isn't the only drive on my home network that currently has the data. Though it was supposed to be the one spot that has the official copy of the data.

Guess it is time to consider taking another disk order plunge.....

Well, I ordered a(nother) 300GB Seagate drive...this time from TigerDirect.com (there are 2 rebates for this one, $50 & $10). Shipped by 2nd Day Air, ETA Wednesday.

Later, I'll probably go after the 300GB Maxtor drive (and its $45 rebate) from TigerDirect.com....

No feedback yet

Now instead of subjecting some poor random forum to a long rambling thought, I will try to consolidate those things into this blog where they can be more easily ignored profess to be collected thoughts from my mind.
