The transplant was pretty straightforward. While I was removing the old drive (120GB Seagate 7200.7), I decided it was time to remove the other old drive (80GB 5400 RPM Maxtor, which I had left in...in case I needed to go back or something. Guess I'm getting more courageous again. :lalala: )

Now I'm formatting it, doing the faster read-only badblock check, only, this time. And, then it'll be copy the saved off files over, reboot so get the various services working again (and make sure other things work, I know I set the label....though I've been known to forget).

And, then I'll be done for upgrades on this machine. Though I'll probably remove the DVArchive storage area that is under my SAMBA export filesystem.

BTW, the drive model is actually a 6L300R0....I figured it would have something different about it, since it is an OEM drive.

Now instead of subjecting some poor random forum to a long rambling thought, I will try to consolidate those things into this blog where they can be more easily ignored profess to be collected thoughts from my mind.
