Long Live Gumby

But, once I had things back to where it was, the first thing I set out to do was clone the system to a different disk. Once again, I used Acronis Migrate Easy. Instead of last time where I went from a Maxtor 80GB 5400RPM 2MB disk to the Seagate 120GB 7200RPM 2MB disk....I was going from that Seagate to a Samsung 120GB 5400RPM 2MB disk. I'm kind of surprised the Seagate went...it had been working so well in my old system (until I replaced it with a 300GB drive).

I guess I had expected it to be a step up from the old (and not just in space). Hopefully the Samsung will just work and work.

Now to get some sleep.....

Tomorrow sometime, the first thing to do will be to update the Restrospect backup setup, make sure it'll beable to continue to run as scheduled (it currently won't because the C drive isn't the same as before and the OneTouch II seems to have registered in a different location on the system.)

Later, probably after the next scheduled recycle backup, I'll make a more current recovery CD.

I don't know if a new 120GB drive is in my future....there's a pretty cheap one (at least it will be after dealing with 2 rebates).... The thing that is bad is that its before rebate price is $10 cheaper than the before rebate price on the 300GB drive I bought last week. Though due to BIOS limitations for the machine...120GB is the biggest I can get where I wan't waste space....

Now instead of subjecting some poor random forum to a long rambling thought, I will try to consolidate those things into this blog where they can be more easily ignored profess to be collected thoughts from my mind.
