New Linux Server

Well, the new (if you can call it that) server is up.

That's the Dell Optiplex GX100 I got off of eBay for like $35. Celeron 433MHz/128MB. The only upgrade I did to the box was drop in a 40GB drive that came out of one of my ReplayTVs. And, installed a version of SuSE on it.

I moved the role of DHCP server from my old linux box to this one, along with NTP. And, made it my master DNS server. I reconfigured my old DNS server to be the slave DNS. And, an NTP peer.

Minimal changes to the rest of my network. Next is to work the WRT54GS in, and setup the Lingo box. Might cleanup the network nest....

No feedback yet

Now instead of subjecting some poor random forum to a long rambling thought, I will try to consolidate those things into this blog where they can be more easily ignored profess to be collected thoughts from my mind.
