QoS oops

Meanwhile, the new antennas for the WRT54GS have arrived, so I'm going to see if it improves my ability to connect to it from the living room or not.

If it doesn't help, I guess I have one of two choices....get the DLink DWL-7100APs that I've been putting off....using 802.11a for the ReplayTV link and 802.11g side for my laptops.

Or, let my main laptop also use the existing 802.11g WDS link.

A couple days ago, I resurrected the old 802.11b AP...so I'd still have connectivity if something went wrong on the WRT54GS. Only my laptop seems to connect to it more often than not....even though the WRT54GS is the only AP in my preferred list, I've tried the b AP both as second in preference or not at all. The risk of having it not at all...is my laptop landing on one of the many open APs in listening range....including a boring one called 'linksys'.

Now instead of subjecting some poor random forum to a long rambling thought, I will try to consolidate those things into this blog where they can be more easily ignored profess to be collected thoughts from my mind.
