YUM upgrade of RedHat 7.2 to 7.3

Because the Fedora Legacy project doesn't support RedHat 7.2....I've been looking at upgrading my RedHat 7.2 boxes to 7.3, which is supported.

At first I was getting ready to locate the ISOs and do a CD upgrade, when I read about using YUM to do the upgrade.

Decided to go for, since I have mondorescue CDs for both NIS servers at work...

Yesterday, I upgraded the NIS slave server to 7.3. Everything seemed fine afterwards, but this morning I didn't get a logwatch email from it. Some investigation, I found the symbolic link for sendmail in /usr/sbin was missing. AFAIK, that's all that was wrong.

Today, I'm upgrading the NIS master server to 7.3. And, if that also goes off without a hitch...this weekends project will be to upgrade my 7.2 server at home, with one nasty difference.

No backups! :lalala:

Wish me luck....

Now instead of subjecting some poor random forum to a long rambling thought, I will try to consolidate those things into this blog where they can be more easily ignored profess to be collected thoughts from my mind.
