Another Daylight Saving Time Update

Link: http://webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/index.html

Well, another Spring Forward has arrived and I think I have updated enough clocks to get by..... :lalala:

Some how I feel I didn't update quite as many clocks as I normally do....though it could be that I have a lot more gadgets that update automatically, coupled with the pile of gadgets that due to my current situation aren't getting the attention they used to.

Though I did go the effort of digging out a couple of digital cameras that haven't used in a while. Namely the Minolta X20, which only had one picture and it was a self-portrait that I don't recall why I took. Though first I had to realize that the battery might be low, which is why I couldn't turn it on...and not the fear that something more serious had happened to it on my last trip (it was still in my suitcase).

Also in my suitcase was my Canon Powershot S20....the battery in it still had juice. Interesting looking at what were pictures on it. The last real pictures were the embarkation pictures from my Alaskan Cruise (June 20th, 2005).... there were a few others after that...like in September...but they were the kind where I needed to enter the serial number from the back of my computer for something, and it was easiest to reach around and blindly snap away with my digital camera than to take it all apart to get behind there.

Like I griped, companies need to stop hiding serial numbers if they are going to require you to provide it to them for any reason. That includes Microsoft and the OEMs that preinstall the OS. I forget why now, but for some reason I needed to prove to Microsoft that Dell provided a genuine Windows XP Pro on my computer....

OTOH, I didn't bother digging out a couple other digital cameras that I really never think about anymore....or the dozens of film cameras that have clocks.

There are probably other things that I know will update automatically, that I didn't bother checking....because I'm fairly confident that they updated correctly on their own. Though it should be interesting what kind of mess I'll have to contend with next year when the start and end of DST changes. I know somethings are getting software updates to handle it, but I have way more devices that won't or can't get updates.... |-|

Finally, it was time to check the lamp timer on my Samsung HLN4365W1 DLP RPTV.....3832 hours.

So I'm close to halfway through its rated life....is it time yet to pick up a spare? I did experience a startup failure yesterday, and there have been more than a few times in the last few weeks where it has had difficulty in starting up. Yet, I don't really want to spend the money at the moment...though perhaps I should buy the spare before I move. :**:

Now instead of subjecting some poor random forum to a long rambling thought, I will try to consolidate those things into this blog where they can be more easily ignored profess to be collected thoughts from my mind.
