D-Link DPH-540 Wi-Fi Phone

I'm pretty sure I won't be able to port my Vonage assigned number from Vonage. Though I hope that Lingo will allow me to re-port the number that I had ported to them. Though I would prefer to be able to keep both numbers.

What I'm thinking of doing is getting BroadVoice and tying its BYOD service to a this WiFi phone. And, also getting their ATA service (wonder if I can get one of my present ATAs unlocked to work with them....) For my home phones.

The ATA is more for my fax machine, which is the number I ported to Lingo. I'd rather not deal with telling the world of a new fax number, etc. I also don't really want to do the hassle of a new voice number, but I can live with it.

OTOH, having 3 different VoIP services might not suck either. Though it would seem overly complicated.

Maybe I'll keep Lingo and try to port my Vonage number, anyways....

WiFi VoIP will probably satisfy my home needs as well, and the only reason (that I can think of) for keeping Vonage is that I want to keep the number.

Lingo will continue to feed my fax machine. Actually, I might try porting the Vonage number to Lingo...since it does DRP....so I can at least have a use for my regular home phones.

Hmmm, guess this needs more thought....

Now instead of subjecting some poor random forum to a long rambling thought, I will try to consolidate those things into this blog where they can be more easily ignored profess to be collected thoughts from my mind.
