Good-bye Avira AntiVir (Free-AV), hello Norton?

The latest and ??greatest?? version, is rather annoying and obnoxious as well. It has so called Internet Worm protection, which is actually a kind of firewall....which caused all kinds of annoying alerts and popups and strange disabling of various applications on my system.

Though it might just be unfortunate timing, or part of the strange behaviour....but it seemed my Cox connection kept going up and down during the process of trying to get it installed, configured and running smoothly.

Though I'm more inclined to think that it was problem due to Symantec than Cox....mainly because it was only me going in and out of IRC. Can't tell off hand, but I'm pretty sure there are other locals in the channel that also use Cox....

But, I seem to have gotten most of the main stuff working with it again....so I guess I'll see how the rest of the 15 day trial goes, and decide if I'll buy it or not. Not really sure there's a different package that I'd be willing to run, feel that I've already come full circle.

Now instead of subjecting some poor random forum to a long rambling thought, I will try to consolidate those things into this blog where they can be more easily ignored profess to be collected thoughts from my mind.
