Incadescent Bulbs are becoming extinct

But, one spot didn't get any light replacements...the pot lights in the kitchen. The CFL flood lights I had left over from a previous apartment were too long and interfered with the cupboard doors. And, I didn't feel like searching for proper CFLs until I owned the place. So, now that I do...I ordered some. They were backordered...so I didn't get them until today.

Now, some of the lights are of cheap CFLs....so some rooms could benefit from having brighter bulbs....but I also don't like the mix of color temperatures....the cheap CFLs are warm white, which I've never liked. So, I guess the next project is to upgrade all the cheap lights.

I think that'll be 4 more 55W 5000K CFLs...only need 3, though I think I want all 4 in the living room to be the same age. Only 3 of the 4 have the good bulbs. The other two spots is one of the bedrooms, though its only being used as storage right now and the main kitchen light.

The one remaining hard to light space might be the bathroom. The light there doesn't come on instantly...not sure if its the bulb or what. Heard that fluorescents and bathrooms don't mix, but nothing conclusive. Might try getting one from topbulb.com and see if it goes better. The one I'm using now I had gotten off of eBay.

I’m far less familiar with the various light attributes, but ridiculously committed to expunging incandescent lights from my home. I have it down to just a couple of bathroom lights, and things like fridge, oven, and such things that you mentioned. I’m hopeful that one of these days something realistic will come along to replace fluorescent, since I’m not keen on the use of mercury in my lighting.

Now instead of subjecting some poor random forum to a long rambling thought, I will try to consolidate those things into this blog where they can be more easily ignored profess to be collected thoughts from my mind.
