Anyways...I decided that the easiest way to get a display on the new computer I'm building is to get a new 4-port KVM. So, I got one by Amazon Prime. And, had been sitting on that for a while...but decided to work it into place today.

What should be the last piece of hardware has been sitting at the UPS store for almost two weeks, so I went and got it. But, I haven't gotten to it, because I did a volunteer shift working concession at Bramlage for Engineers without Borders.

But, even though I've pretty much decided now that I'm going to install Ubuntu on the new machine, I'm downloading a copy of Open Solaris to try out. Wonder what I'll do if it works.

Guess it depends on how complete its Xen support is. Since I'm going to want a Linux VM because Solaris x86 isn't widely supported by BOINC projects, while Linux is. And, I'm gonna want a Windows VM....to make sure I can run the one or two Windows things that don't have direct replacements for, and my Windows machine dies before I do.

Now with Ubuntu, I could in theory have a Solaris VM...but I'm more interested in the idea of using ZFS for the host storage.

Now instead of subjecting some poor random forum to a long rambling thought, I will try to consolidate those things into this blog where they can be more easily ignored profess to be collected thoughts from my mind.
