About to start my winter trek....

Well, I'm about to embark on my annual trip to visit my parents. Despite some misgivings about the whole thing this year..... :?

Hopefully the weather won't mess things up too badly....Winter Storm Warning, Blizzard Watch, Snow Emergency....got about 3.5 hours to the flight. Hopefully I can score a taxi first.

But, I'm going to where it'll be colder.....Calgary. And, the bad thing is the cold air system that will hit Calgary after Xmas...will probably follow me home.... :..(

Starting that holiday stressing.

Well, I'm starting to stress major about the holidays.

I think I got things straight packing and what I'm bringing wise. But, the way winter had jumped in today...and with the Winter Storm warning continuing until 5pm tomorrow. Things could get dicey out there as I try to make my way to the airport at 6am.

Probably won't get any sleep until I get on the airplane....

Took another hot bath and played some Tunes

Took another quick hot bath, my poor aching back. And, I haven't even started the worst part of the holidays. At least I have a chiropractor appointment scheduled for January 6th. ;D

Though I have a dentist appointment on the 10th

Anyways played a shuffle of the "Top 100 Most Played" smartlist...

...while some of the same artist were represented, other ones made an appearance.

 1. The Flag - Barenaked Ladies - Gordon
 2. Whisper - Evanescence - Origin
 3. Origin - Evanescence - Origin
 4. I Died - Bif Naked - I Bificus
 5. Twitch - Bif Naked - I Bificus
 6. Nobody's Fool (Live) - Avril Lavigne - Avril Live: Try To Shut Me Up

WiRNS and TV/Movie Ratings

Okay, I've decided to release my changes out to the unsuspecting world and hopefully somebody will see fit to incorporate it into an existing distro (along with my previous changes).

Here's proof that it works ;D

Firefox & TripleSelect and Delaware Investments

Well, either Delaware Investments recently changed something or the recent version of TripleSelect broke something....but I can no longer use Firefox to select the numbers off of my activity report and cut and paste into Micrsoft Money to keep track of my 401k.

The have the columns of numbers formatted not using a table.

With IE. I could select and drag a little bit and it would automatically select the whole number "##.#####".

There is no equivalent drag select functionality in Firefox. But, I was using TripleSelect to get around this....if I triple select it would select the whole number "##.#####". But, last week I let it install some theme/update extensions it had found...one of which was for TripleSelect.

Well, now if I triple select the number, it will only select the part before or after the decimal point...depending on where I click. That's the same as what double click did....so now I'm stuck until I find something else to solve this problem.

Or is this another case where I have switch back to using IE? 88|

WiRNS, Zap2It and TWC

Well, this morning my ReplayTVs that depend on WiRNS for guide data wouldn't update.

SQL exception during the update.....don't know if it is because of my changes or because Zap2It changed the lineup of one of the guides. (they removed channels 80-96...rather than move then to 1100+, which is okay since I can live without seeing them on my ReplayTV). But, they failed to make the other changes. Changes that Time Warner had mailed me about back in November that would take effect today.

The big one is they moved BBC America from digital 108 to Standard (analog) 74. Without the guide updates, from both Zap2It and DNNA...I'm missing shows on BBC America now.

WiRNS seemed to hang at Purging guide data...so my first guess is it is related to the lineup change. Since I didn't touch the database structure to make my changes.

Though there is a problem when it fetches the guide data from my ReplayTV...so that's probably my fault.

Now instead of subjecting some poor random forum to a long rambling thought, I will try to consolidate those things into this blog where they can be more easily ignored profess to be collected thoughts from my mind.
