Time to switch

So, I called the number on the T-mobile website to do the switch, and when I finally got a person....I was informed that they don't handle switches, and that I needed to call a different number (even though the number I call gave the same prompts about switching).

The number was 1-888-310-8369

Seems to be pretty straightforward after that....gave my details and then said I should get a text message in a few hours letting me know that the transfer is done.

Another day with the BlackBerry 7100T

I'm starting to get a hang of the keyboard...still need to figure out the shortcuts and tricks with it.

Not much change with Yahoo Messenger, but I'm starting to get addicted to having it.

Browser navigation is a pain. And, it isn't perfect at accessing many sites that I need. Seems the BlackBerry Browser uses a proxy server that has some annoying flaws.

One is that it keeps changing IPs, because I keep getting signed out of the wireless interface to our corporate Livelink server. I believe the default is the session cookie contains source IP (as well as login and password).

The other is it [proxy server?] is caching content. I accessed a page once.... It then got updated (several times), but everything I access it from my BB7100T it comes back with the same page from the very first time I accessed it. I've cleared the cache and the other stores under my browser configuration...but I still get the old page....

First day with Blackberry 7100t

Link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BB7100T/message/25

Well, I'm starting to have second thoughts.

I decided to get this because I look at my usage and find that I do
very little voice now. Most text alerts, email and IM....and T9 doesn't really work too well.

Plus, a 'real' IM client seemed like a bonus. Plus I use Yahoo Messenger as my one of my main work IM client, so this was another plus. Or so I thought.

I'm having trouble figuring out how to do Profiles...what do the different options correspond to (ie. what are Messages, Level 1 Messages, etc....and which one corresponds with Yahoo Messenger?)

I can't seem to get tones that aren't either too loud or too quiet or tones at all for different features. Want to hear that I got an email or an IM.

Seems Yahoo will only vibrate on IM, which makes it kind of useless unless I'm holding it 24/7 to feel an IM come in.

Plus there's a horrible lag on incoming IM. Quickly runs up my message usage, when the co-worker thinks I'm being rude... once like 30 minutes went by before I got a flood of messages from him. The response to my first IM, and then a dozen wondering why I wasn't
responding to him now.

Meanwhile...another piece of news for today is that my Blackberry 7100t has arrived.

I'm charging it up now....gonna sort out the rest of it later tonight...probably sometime between my evening catch up of email and reformatting and rebuilding the dead ReplayTV.

Now instead of subjecting some poor random forum to a long rambling thought, I will try to consolidate those things into this blog where they can be more easily ignored profess to be collected thoughts from my mind.
