Well, got it set up, and everything seems to be good, once I did a quick reconfigure of some of the hardware. Namely the network adapter. Though I can't really fully test it, because as luck would have it....it is the 6th of the month.....which means my RoadRunner service is out.
I don't know what it is, but my service is more likely to go out around this day than at any other time. By some strange coincidence it is also when the bill is due. Of course, I can't do much, because no RoadRunner...means I can't access my bank account nor call Time Warner.
Follow up:
Anyways....one of the interesting things is that instead of the Celeron 1.8GHz machine I was expecting to find....it turns out that I got a Celeron 2.2GHz machine. All the other specs are the same.
Well, a quick peek at the site that I got it from....they only have one purchase item for Celeron equipped machines...the rest have Pentium CPUs....and it is is listed as "Available while supplies last". Guess supplies have dwindled to where I got a faster box than expected.
Wonder how it'll stack up for BOINC now....
Hmmm, that's about all I can say about it so far, because I have no Internet service at the moment.....
