Wow, this thing is big....bigger than I expected. Guess, I didn't pay attention to the other dimensions. I wanted large enough that I could set a portable barbecue into....and not wider than the depth of my deck. But, I didn't consider how large that would be over all.
The deck depth is 55", and this deck box/bench is stated as 53" wide. So, it'll fit...and the interior space is rated as deep enough to accommodate the grill (and its cart) I was looking at (Weber Q 220). It doesn't reflect that I've now looking at the Weber Q 120 as the grill I will likely acquire now. I do hope to have some other furniture on my deck, eventually....something for lounging around.
Anyways...I started assembling it in my living room...it was pretty cramped working on it...when I wondered if it would fit through the patio door after I got it together. I didn't quite have enough room to tilt the lid into place (or turn it around so that I would have room to tilt the lid, and then later turn it around so it would go out onto the deck in the right orientation). So I moved it out onto the deck. It just barely slide through, completely open, patio door.
Seems the pieces are such that they could go together into more than one style of Suncast product. Extra tabs and such that don't mate with anything else....but the annoying one, is the hole on the front that suggests that you can lock it...has nothing that corresponds to it on the lid, so it can't be locked. It isn't so much that I want to keep people out of what I'm storing in it, but to keep the lid closed....it can get pretty windy around here....
Guess I'll have to investigate some other way to making sure the lid will stay closed...or just see if it'll be a problem or not.
Now to see about the BBQ.
