Fan Troubles

Well, I've discovered a problem. The remote codes for my TiVo HD seem to conflict with the Honeywell fan.

And, if it conflicts with that fan it'll probably conflict with other fans....such as the Lasko tower fan that bumped this fan to the livingroom. Wonder if I can find a different fan that will work without conflict with the many IR controlled devices in my Home Theatre setup.

:hmm:

The remote for the cheap tower fan I had picked up some time ago from Wal-Mart never worked, though remote from a different tower fan (also from Wal-Mart) worked it. Though the remote has since gotten lost.

Occurred to me that Lasko remote might control it, since they all seem to share codes. Sure enough, it worked. Everything except 'breeze' (since no button/feature exists on the Lasko.) I don't recall there being an oscillation control on the original remote, but the tower fan responds to it from the Lasko remote. The ION button doesn't do anything. Now the Honeywell fan also overlaps, wonder if its breeze button will work the breeze modes on the cheap tower fan?

It does.

Well, the Honeywell fan (on low) is too noisy for the living room....guess I'm looking for different fan for the living room now. Don't know what I'll do with the Honeywell fan. Perhaps in the meantime I'll swap it with the cheap tower fan (though the lack of proper remote could be an issue).

Hmmm....
